Many of us are familiar with allergies, such as allergic rhinitis or eosinophilic esophagitis. However, what about eosinophilic gastritis?
A recent ACG Case Reports Journal case sheds light on this rare diagnosis-eosinophilic gastritis, which manifested as gastric outlet obstruction.
Unfortunately, despite starting the patient on steroid therapy, the fibrotic changes in the pylorus persisted, failing to alleviate the obstruction. As a result, the patient required a gastrojejunostomy, which was performed laparoscopically.
After that, the patient was started on long-term immunosuppression with mycophenolate mofetil, which was then initiated to manage this chronic condition.
