Colon cancer presented as DKA?

Hey there!

As we know, March has been a month dedicated to raising awareness for colorectal cancer.

While our last morning’s report was about DKA,  combination of DKA and colon cancer creates an interesting case!

Here is my summary of the case from a recent publication in the ACG journal:

In this rare case, a patient presented due to elevated Blood Glucose and was found in DKA due to the cancer spreading from the sigmoid colon with mets to the pancreas. Pretty unexpected, huh?

So, let us keep spreading the word and encourage our patients to get those colonoscopy screenings!
