About me
As a resident in an Internal Medicine residency program, my professional focus and academic pursuits have consistently been aimed toward gastroenterology. I am passionate about advancing patient care through meticulous research and evidence-based practices in medicine, especially within GI!
My current research initiatives encompass a range of critical issues in gastroenterology. From evaluating the optimal timing for emergent versus urgent endoscopic removal of esophageal food impactions to examining the correlation between time to scope and complications in patients on anticoagulation therapy with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding, I am actively engaged in projects to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
In addition to my research endeavors, I am actively involved in quality improvement projects to optimize colorectal cancer screening referral rates and improve the management of overweight patients.
Whether conducting research, participating in quality improvement initiatives, or engaging directly with patients, I prioritize compassion, empathy, and professionalism in all aspects of my practice.
Outside the hospital, I often spend time on the American River with my fantastic husband and three beautiful daughters. I love cooking, gardening, and reading. There is a bunch of stuff to do if I have time!
Spreading GI knowledge is one of my passions. You know me; I love to talk about GI cases! So, I decided to bring together our knowledge of gastroenterology on a website called Gastrobrain!
